Mechanical keyboard is a rare sight on a laptop since it is usually reserved for top-tier gaming laptops. However, the Damansara-based outfit, Illegear has decided to offer such feature on a budget-oriented gaming laptop instead which is called Raven.
According to Illegear, the mechanical keyboard switches which on Raven are developed by the company itself although it didn’t provide further information regarding their performances. Additionally, the keyboard also comes with customizable RGB backlighting.
Meanwhile, Illegear stated that Raven is the direct successor to its budget-oriented Q5 Evo gaming laptop that was released back in February. Aside from the new mechanical RGB keyboard, the company pointed out that the laptop is also 4mm thinner, 300g lighter, and has 23% more battery capacity at 60Whr than its predecessor.
Nevertheless, the Raven does feature several identical components as per Q5 Evo including 15.6-inch FHD display as well as hardware options of up to Intel Core i7-7700HQ, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, and 32GB RAM. Other than that, the gaming laptop is able to support one 2.5-inch SATA storage drive and two M.2-based solid state drive.
With a price tag that starts from RM 4,099 onwards, customers are able to customize and order the new Illegear Raven gaming laptop directly from the company’s official website immediately.

We’ve seen plenty of leaks surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but this is perhaps the first time we’ve heard of any concrete details on the pre-order status and official availability of the upcoming phablet. Apparently, the device will go on sale on 15 September; pre-orders are said to begin a day after the launch event too.
These details are revealed by none other than Evan Blass, or more prominently known by his Twitter handle @evleaks. According to Blass, Samsung will begin taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 8 on 24 August. To sweeten the deal, Blass mention that Samsung is also throwing in a couple of goodies with the Note 8 pre-order.
CORRECTION: the options are as follows
1. 256GB card + wireless charger
2. 360 cam
Sorry for the confusion. https://t.co/Db42n4kVCf

Those who pre-order the Galaxy Note 8 in the US can either get a 256GB microSD card along with a wireless charger, or just a 360-degree camera (likely the new Gear 360). Blass then elaborated that European pre-order is slightly different: Samsung is said to offer the DeX Station in the region.
Of course, as is always the case with leaked information, take these details with a grain of salt. That being said, these dates are very plausible, and Samsung is known for its aggressively product rollout. Hopefully, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will indeed be available from 15 September onwards; we’ll find out ourselves come 23 August.
